Question 7 of 7Is your main activity outside the excluded trades, such as property development, financial or legal services, banking, farming, or running hotels or nursing homes?

This checker gives a general indication only, based on the main SEIS rules. It is not tax advice, and HMRC makes the final decision. Companies that do not meet the SEIS conditions may still qualify for EIS, which has higher limits (for example, gross assets of up to £30 million before the share issue and fewer than 250 employees, from 6 April 2026). A senior adviser will confirm your position.
